Coughing treatment at home

Coughing treatment at home

Coughing is one of the main symptoms of asthma. The cough in asthma is the same as the cough you get if you have a cold or chest infection. It can be quite dry or mucus may produced. A cough is a sudden, often repetitive, spasmodic contraction of the thoracic cavity, resulting in violent release of air from the lungs, and usually accompanied by a distinctive sound.

Coughing is a useful function and does not always mean there is a problem with your child. However, coughing at night, after going to sleep indicates the need for medical attention.”

Coughing usually means there is something in the respiratory passages that should not be there. This can be caused by breathing in dust particles in the air or when a piece of food goes down the wrong way. Some common causes of chronic cough include asthma, allergic rhinitis, sinus problems (for example sinus infection), and esophageal reflux of stomach contents. In rare occasions, chronic cough may be the result of aspiration of foreign objects into the lungs (usually in children). It is very important to obtain a chest x-ray if a chronic cough is present. The following pertains to patients who have a normal chest x-ray.

There are many causes of cough. A thorough history and physical examination help the veterinarian decide which causes of cough are most likely in your pet and helps him or her decide which diagnostic tests to recommend and which therapies are most likely to be effective. Cough originating from the trachea may be stimulated by lightly squeezing the trachea. Cough due to heart disease may be accompanied by a murmur or abnormal heart rate or rhythm.

Controlled coughing technique

1. Sit on a chair or on the edge of your bed, with both feet on the floor. Lean slightly forward. Relax.

2. Fold your arms across your abdomen and breathe in slowly through your nose. (The power of the cough comes from moving air.)

3. To exhale: lean forward, pressing your arms against your abdomen. Cough 2-3* times through a slightly open mouth. Coughs should be short and sharp.

Cough is generally a symptom of some other problem in the body. It is wise to “pull the rug out from under” the cough by helping the rest of the body get well. Healthy bodies do not cough. Whether it is a cold, flu, bronchitis, or pneumonia, strengthening one’s immune system with Vitamin C can only help.

Coughs can be treated with cough medicines. Dry coughs are treated with cough suppressants (antitussives) that suppress the body’s urge to cough, while productive coughs (coughs that produce phlegm) are treated with expectorants that loosen mucus from the respiratory tract. Centrally acting cough suppressants, such as codeine and dextromethorphan reduce the urge to cough by inhibiting the response of the sensory endings by depolarization, or a dulling, of the vagus nerve, the nerve leading from the brain stem and serving the chest area. A recent study indicates that, because of the presence of theobromine in chocolate, 50 grams of dark chocolate may be an effective treatment for a persistent cough.[

Get plenty of rest, and drink lots of fluids. Try over-the-counter medicines to treat your symptoms. See your doctor. He or she can prescribe medicine to relieve your symptoms. If the coughing is severe or if you don’t believe the irritant has been cleared from your airway, see your doctor or go to the emergency room right away.

Dangers of Alcohol Save Your Life

Dangers of Alcohol – Save Your Life

Drunk driving is the leading cause of death for young adults, aged 15 to 24 years. In one study, an estimated 6% to 14% of drivers under 21 years of age who were stopped at roadside checkpoints had been drinking. This age-group makes up only one fifth of the licensed drivers in the United States, yet they are involved in almost half of all fatal car crashes.

Alcohol has many side effects including altering your perceptions, dulling your senses, hindering coordination, and blocking memory functions. If you continue to use alcohol heavily, you could experience stomach ailments, sexual impotence, heart and central nervous system damage, loss of appetite, and blackouts.

Many people use alcohol to escape from their problems, or to change their personalities. They have an inability to control their drinking, a high tolerance level for alcohol, and may suffer problems at work or in school as a result. If your family and friends are concerned about your problem, you should be too. It is a sad fact that an estimated 6.6 million children under the age of 18 live in households with at least one alcoholic parent.

Injury is a type of hazard which can be associated with alcohol use. Injury is different from violence in that injury is most often accidental. Types of accidental injuries caused by alcohol abuse or addiction include burns, injury from a car or boating accident (caused by drunk driving), drowning, and injury from falling.

Violence is commonly associated with intense alcohol use. Although not all people experience violence as a result of alcohol use, this problem is common among those who are heavily intoxicated. Violent acts may include abuse of family members, assault, and homicide. In order to prevent such occurrences, many people seek out help for alcohol addiction from drug and alcohol rehab centers.

There are no two ways about it. Aznd no, it is not alright to take ‘just a little drink’ when pregnant. The alcohol in your blood can get carried into the baby’s bloodstream causing birth difficulties, abnormalities and even a miscarriage. Plus, if you are planning to conceive, it is unclear how early into the pregnancy you must stop drinking. So it is best if you abstain from alcohol when planning a pregnancy, when pregnant and when breast feeding. The best gift you can give your child is that of good health.

Abuse of alcohol can also lead to malnutrition and lowered resistance to disease, which presents an entirely new set of problems, not only to your looks but your health as well. No one can say for sure, but abstinence may be one of the ways a woman can stay healthier and looking younger longer. Besides, who needs pimples?

When a person takes a drink of alcohol, ethanol (the chemical name for drinkable alcohol) irritates the stomach lining, releasing acids. A small amount is broken down chemically, but most of the alcohol heads toward the small intestine through an opening called the pyloric valve. Drinking too much alcohol too quickly can cause the valve to swell and close, causing vomiting.

Care to take for Zits

Care to take for Zits

Inside the pore of the face are sebaceous glands which produce sebum. When the outer layers of skin shed, the dead skin cells left behind may become ‘glued’ together by the sebum. This causes a blockage in the pore, especially when the skin becomes thicker at puberty. The sebaceous glands produce more sebum which builds up behind the blockage, and this sebum harbours various bacteria including the species Propionibacterium acnes. This inflammation is called zit or pimple or acne.

Care before treating a Zit
Before treating a zit, identify the type of blemish. A surface-level eruption will be more receptive to topical treatmant than a deeper cyst, which will appear as faint red blemish and be sensitive and even painful to the touch. With care, you can use the steps below to get rid of a superficial zit within 1-2 days; these treatments are also practical when dealing with cysts, which may also need more extreme treatments such as cortizone injections.

Don’t overwash or overscrub a zit. Overzealous cleansing will only strip your skin of the natural oils it needs to be healthy. This leaves your pores unprotected and susceptible to getting a zit, and will also irritate a zit that’s already there. To get rid of a zit, wash it (don’t scrub) with a gentle cleanser no more than twice a day and moisturize your skin afterwards.

Steps for popping out the Zit
Wash you hand thoroughly with soap or a mild cleanser.
Sterilize the needle. There are a number of different ways you can sterilize the needle including heating over an open flame. This will ensure that any bacterial residing on the needle is killed.
Gently pierce the zit and apply pressure to the surrounding skin to squeeze the zit and extract any liquid from it.
Once the zit is complete popped and the extracted waste cleaned up, use a good amount of gauze to apply small amounts of hydrogen peroxide to clean the surface where the pimple used to reside.
Think of this exercise as a minor operation you just performed on yourself.

Care for Zit
People with oily skin should choose a gel based product, those with dry skin should choose a cream.
If you are like most people and have combination skin, choose the product that best works with the afflicted area.
The more sensitive your skin, the lower concentration of active ingredient you will need.
Some mild creams can be used as a preventative measure, but most acne creams are too harsh to be used before you see or feel a zit.
If the acne is excessively painful, or if it becomes painful after trying an OTC product, try taking an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen and get to a doctor ASAP.
If your skin has large pustules that appear in clusters, if they are painful, if your acne causes scars, or if you can’t seem to get rid of a blemish (it starts to go away only to reappear just when you thought it was gone), your acne may require treatment by a doctor.

Cash in Advance Loan – A Way to get Quick Cash

In today’s world our expenses are increasing day by day. But income is not increasing at the same rate for some people. And sometimes because of this difference between intake and outgoing some of us fall in unexpected financial crisis without any way out of it. The best way out of it is to go for an external financial help which comes in the form of cash in advance loan.

Understanding cash advance

Cash advance is help provided by the lenders out there in financial market to people struck with financial crunch in the middle or end of the month. These are actually short term loans which mean the money will be provided to you only for a short duration and this little extra help comes at a cost too. All terms and conditions attached to such loans are quite strict.

Some figures you would like to know

These loans let you secure an amount which goes up to £2000 and it is more than enough to get your entire crisis washed away. You have to pay the money back before your next payday arrives. Interest rate attached to cash advance loans is quite high. Lender may charge you a rate up to 25% of the amount taken.

These loans are available in two forms – secured and unsecured. In case of secured cash advance you have to pledge some security as collateral against the loan such as your home, jewelries or anything valuable which has got some equity attached to it. But it is not the same case with unsecured ones. You don’t have to pledge anything in this case.

Procedure

All you need to do to get the money transferred to your account is to provide the lender with your current active bank account number through which all transactions will be done. And if you are a legal UK citizen of age 18 or above and having a regular income of £2000 or more then you are eligible to apply for.
